报告摘要: 

The search for long-lived particles (LLPs) has become a key direction in the exploration of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). Among the possible LLP candidates, sterile neutrinos—often referred to as heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) in collider contexts—stand out as compelling candidates that could simultaneously address several long-standing puzzles in the SM, such as the origin of neutrino masses and the nature of dark matter. HNLs naturally arise not only in minimal extensions of the SM but also in a variety of non-minimal frameworks. In the latter case, where both light and heavy degrees of freedom exist, effective field theory (EFT) provides a well-motivated and systematic approach to describe low-energy phenomena.

In this talk, I will present studies on the discovery prospects of long-lived HNLs at various terrestrial experiments within the EFT framework, summarizing a series of phenomenological works I have conducted in recent years.

报告人简介：

Zeren Simon Wang is an associate researcher at the School of Physics, Hefei University of Technology. He received his BSc in Physics from the University of Hong Kong in 2013, followed by MSc and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Bonn in 2015 and 2019, respectively. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics and at the Department of Physics, Taiwan Tsing Hua University.

He has published over 40 research papers in journals such as JHEP, Physical Review D, and European Physical Journal C, and serves as a referee for these and other journals. His research centers on high-energy-physics phenomenology, focusing on searches for physics beyond the Standard Model.
